Discover the Healing Power of Qigong
In Person at St. Peter’s Poolesville
Are you looking for a practice that nurtures both body and mind, while helping you stay vibrant and healthy? Qigong is an ancient mind-body-spirit practice that has been transforming lives for centuries. It combines posture, movement, breathing, and visualization to boost your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Kathy offers two classes at St. Peter's Poolesville.
A new series starts Thursday, October 3. We meet once a week for 7 weeks.
Vigorous Qigong for Strength and Vitality: 7:30 am to 8:30 am. Early birds, martial artists, and people who want a practice that increases flexibility and energy circulation deep into the muscles, joints, ligaments, fascia, spine, and nervous system will love this envigorating series. In this class, we apply four breathwork practices, including an an esoteric Shaolin monk practice, to revitalize our bodies at the cellular level.
Flowing Qigong for Relaxation and Stress Management: 9:15 am to 10:15 am. This refreshing class, with its gentle, flowing movements, releases the physical tensions that sap our energy and leave us feeling stressed and depleted. In this class, we also use breathwork to nourish our spirit.

Kathy's students have experienced numerous benefits from their Qigong practices. As a polyvagal-informed Qigong trainer, Kathy shares skills and techniques that sustainably balance the nervous system and strengthen resilience. Regular practice helps you:
-
Increase energy and sleep better at night

-

-
Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety
-

-
Enhance immune function
Qigong has been proven to help with a range of health challenges, from high blood pressure and chronic illness to mental stress and emotional frustration. It supports cardiovascular health, boosts your immune system, lowers hypertension, enhances digestion and respiratory function, and reduces the risk of falls in older adults.

Beyond the physical advantages, Qigong helps to harmonize the connection between your body, mind, and spirit—creating a deep sense of balance and inner peace. No matter your age or experience level, Qigong offers a gentle yet powerful way to reclaim your health and well-being.

"I love practicing Qigong with Kathy. She is so knowledgeable and has so many good practices to share. I love the grounding and restorative nature of Qigong, and I love the heart and spirit Kathy brings to it. The music she uses is also particularly soothing and supportive. Kathy is a wonderful teacher, and I can’t recommend her classes enough."

“I've been taking classes with Kathy Jankowski online since 2022. I enjoy Kathy's ability to relate well to each one who comes, and how she makes everyone feel included. Her radiant joy is encouraging and inviting. I've learned much about Qi all around, and my Qi field. I've learned how to use the exercises she teaches, to work through challenging life situations, and to have more energy.”

"I joined Kathy's Qigong practice during the Covid lockdown in 2020. I credit her with helping me cope during that time. I happily continue to attend on a weekly basis. I highly recommend Kathy's integration with breathwork. Practicing regularly calms my body and soul by elevating my mood, helping me relax, and reducing my anxieties. My feelings of well-being improve with each practice. Try it, I know you will like it."

"I really enjoy learning Qigong from Kathy. I appreciate how she explains the movements so it is easy to follow. Her teaching style is very encouraging and straight forward. I have PTSD from childhood trauma. Practicing Qigong, I feel more in my body and more accepting of my body than I probably ever have. Kathy is soothing in her guidance with breathwork. The best part is I’ve learned techniques I can use on the fly when I feel anxious. I calm down pretty quickly, so I can operate more effectively."
