Come learn how synchronous movement, Breathing Buddies, and breath practices can help the children in your life cope, transition, feel calmer, do better in school, and smile bigger, brighter smiles. This interactive workshop incorporates seven evidence-based strategies for helping children reduce stress. These strategies help everyone in your family sync up with each other, and that’s what brings greater ease, health, and well-being. Bringing awareness to how we move and breathe profoundly changes our life for the better. Good breathing patterns shift moods, help us sleep more soundly, increase attention and focus, improve self-control, and promote kindness and compassion. Our breath is always there, so learning to breathe consciously is easy and accessible. Best of all, our breath belongs to us. We don’t have to do anything to get it – it’s with us in every moment. Research shows that attention training, breath practices, play, and stress reduction help children think clearly, develop socially, and learn new skills with less resistance. Additionally, good relationships and encouraging words from adults are important for helping children develop confidence and a healthy emotional outlook on life. Our physical, emotional, and mental health affect the way we behave, feel, and think. The coronavirus pandemic and virtual school has added a new level of stress to everyone’s life. As a caretaker, parent, or grandparent, you play an important role in helping the children and youth in your life adapt, learn, and grow – especially in the midst of so much uncertainty.
