Sense into the dynamism of stillness

The new series continues to explore Five Animal Qigong. To help us keep relaxing into the subtlety and flexibility of the movements, our stillness practice will focus on becoming more energetically coherent inwardly, allowing internal tension to dissolve as Qi flows into areas of stagnation. We will practice moving from stillness into stillness, feeling the inner Qi field naturally realigning. We will also feel into the sensations of shifting our weight. Practicing emptying and filling the legs cultivates effortless power by training the body to move from rooted stability rather than muscular tension. It refines proprioceptive awareness: the body's ability to sense its position, movement, and force and to maintain balance and coordination. It teaches us to distinguish more subtly the difference between doing and yielding to Life Force, helping energy and movement flow naturally with intention.
