Tending the Flame, Weaving the Light
Qigong for the Season of Giving
Available spots
Description
As the days grow shorter and the season turns inward, we gather like a circle around the fire. Qigong invites us to weave strength with flexibility, steadiness with ease, so that generosity flows both within ourselves and outward to family and community. Over 5 weeks (Wednesdays beginning Nov. 12, 6:30–8:00 pm Eastern), we’ll explore gentle movements and breath that help us take in the gifts all around us, nurture our inner flame, and rest more deeply even amid holiday busyness. Together we’ll practice slowing down enough for light to break in — a light that restores balance, renews vitality, and opens the heart to give and receive with grace. Like sitting at a hearth, this seasonal practice offers warmth, kindness, and comfort, the same nourishment we find in shared food, gathering with loved ones, and true connection. In sobering times, when many families are separated or weighed down by the challenges of our world, it helps to remember that Qigong arose again and again in eras of upheaval to help ordinary people find inner peace, clarity, and resilience through deeper embodiment. Each week, we’ll contemplate a seasonal theme (generosity, harvest, stillness, renewal) through the living lens of Qigong. This course is an invitation to experience the season as the ancients did: as a time of tending body and spirit. Our final session comes just before the Winter Solstice. With deeper presence, we will know how to carry warmth and light into the wider circle of life.
